My inlaws were in karnataka for some years and my MIL is expertise in preparing BBB.
Yes I tried this many times and got this time to post the recipe.
Preparation:
Vegetables-carrot,beans,turnip,potato,small onions,tomato(one),beetroot can be added but colour of the rice will be changed.
Rice-1 cup
Toor dal-3/4 cup
Preparation of the powder:
1.Coriander seeds-3-4 tbsp
2.urad dhal-1 tbsp
3.chana dhal-1 tbsp
4.methi seeds-7-8
5.Dry red chillies-according to taste
6.cinnamon and cloves -according to taste
7.6-7 tbsp of grated coconut
This powder can be made and stored in container .
1.Cut all the vegetables and in cooker add oil ,put the vegetables add salt,the powder,turmeric powder and cook for sometime .
2.Then add the washed rice and dhal and add four to five cups of water and then pressure it.
3.After it is cooked temper it with cashews,curry leaves in ghee.
4.Then take imli and jaggery water and heat it in low flame .Add this mixture and mix it and then serve with papad,raita or pickles.
5.Delicious bisi bele bath is ready and another method where vegetables can be cooked separately and then add to the cooked rice ,and one can opt for any method.
