Storage tips

One of my neighbour aunty is very old and she is 75 years of age and yet she is really active and also keeps her home clean and also cooks well.
I think all elders are really a role model for us and this summer storage of fruits and vegetables is very essential and she gave me lot many tips on how to store things in refrigerator, also storing cereals and pulses.

Hope this would be useful for all  who manages household work.

1.For fruits-wrap the fruits like watermelon, musk melon and banana in newspaper and store outside,it dont get dried.

2.Lemon-store lemon and ginger in airtight container and it will stay for 15 -20 days.

3. Greenleaves-after getting from shop dont put in water, just wrap it in paper and store in refrigerator.

4.Peas-Remove the peas from the pod and put in airtight container and  write the date and store in freezer.can be used when required.

5.Mint leaves -dry and make powder and use when required.

I did like this for curry leaves since I fall in short of getting curry leaves ,so prepared powder and used in making dishes.
