In my school days I have tasted this kokum juice in one of our friends place in maharashtra and they belong to konkan region.
To my surprise my husband hails from mangalore and my mother in law got some dried punar puli and we prepared juice from it.
It tasted so very good.
About kokum:
In kannada it is called punar puli. The kokum fruit is green reddish berry and got tangy taste.
It is used in refreshing drinks and has many medicinal properties.
It has anti fungal and antibacterial properties.
Kokum fruit is rich in anti oxidant .
It is good during summer season and shields against dehydration and sun stroke.
It is healthier and tastier.
How to prepare juice:
1.The dried rinds are first soaked in water overnight.
2.Then boil it along with rinds for sometime and then discard the rinds .
3.Then add sugar and boil it and let it cool and store it....
